The National Elections Database provides information on the results of presidential and parliamentary elections conducted worldwide since World War II. Version 1.0 of the dataset covers 3,985 national elections (1,023 presidential elections and 2,962 parliamentary elections) held between 1946 and 2018 across 214 countries and independent territories. The dataset aims to achieve the broadest possible time and spatial coverage by compiling information from various sources, as described in the codebook and companion paper.
